Both berths and all shipside stockpile areas are served by three 50-ton gantry cranes and by one 25-ton gantry cranes. All cranes use interchangeable hydraulic or mechanical clamshell buckets, orange peels, hooks and magnets. Vessel are routinely discharged at a rate of 5,000 metric tons per day.
The portable, integrated ship loader is easily shifted from hatch to hatch. Vessels can be loaded directly from rail, truck or stockpile. The ship loader is self-propelled and is also used for high piling of materials.
